Top 10 Scrappy Products of '12

As I have grown in the past years of my scrapping, I wanted to do a little review of my favorite products I got into last year. Some of these products are by no means new to the market, but I wanted to highlight some that are new favorites to me and my scrapping. Some of these I have tried on my own, and some I have learned of in a class. Some quickly became popular when they hit the market. I love reading posts of other scrappers to see what they like and recommend.

1: Alcohol Inks by Ranger: if you have not played with these yet, they are amazing. I'm totally in love with alcohol inks. They are the only thing I really use on my cards anymore. They are quick and really hard to mess up.

2: Distress inks by Tim Holtz: I always sworn off Tim Holtz products because I thought they were too grunge. I've slowly taken a liking to the distress style, or I just want to tone down some colors. I love inking my paper and the edges of photos.

3: Twine: needless to say twine has exploded over the past year. I find myself making random flourishes with it or using it to draw the readers eye across the page. I also love tying bows through buttons. My twine supply has changed my colors during scrapping as I like the nature tones found with The Twinnerys twine.

4: Mists by Tattered Angels and Smooch: Misting has been a new found adventure to me. It took some figuring out, but now I am in love with it. My collection keeps on growing. I highly recommend the Ranger craft mat to attempt to contain the extra mist, since I am a mess maker

5: ATG Adhesive: if you've ever considered the big pink adhesive gun, I highly recommend it. Its a bit big at first, but it is seriously so cheap I can't not use it. Now to keep it from falling off its wall mount and accidentally misting the white walls

6: Echo Park: I seem to fall in love more and more with Echo Park. Hello Summer was one of my favorite lines this year. It was perfect for Wisconsin summers since it wasn't all palm trees and beachy. It was perfect for the colors that are common for us.

7: My Minds Eye: one of my new favorites are My Minds Eye. Their Lost and Found Lines are some of my favorite. The Lost and Found III line quickly became my vacation favorite. I will be posting those pages in the upcoming weeks. I love their use of the color grey, which is another favorite. And even crazier is the fact that these colors are a little move toward vintage that is out of my norm.

8: Washi Tape: I think washi tape has officially taken over everyone's scrapping. It is so easy and versatile. I love that I don't have to deal with glue and I can reposition it until I like how it looks. It makes fun banners and even looks cool ripped.

 9: Chevrons: It took me a few months to embrace this pattern, but I'm finally digging the chevrons. I even got the chevron cuttlebug folder, which I am totally in love with.

10: Crops: I've never been into crops, but I started going to my LSS (Local Scrapbook Store). Now I look forward to the midnight crops one Friday a month. It is a great way to get out and meet other scrappers. I've met so many new people this year who have a common hobby. I highly recommend getting out and trying a crop some time. This was very helpful after making the move back to WI.

These were some of my favorite new products of 2012. I am looking forward to CHA Winter which will be coming up in the next few weeks. I'm excited to see the new lines and trends. First I need to get back to work so I can have some spending money.
